First, of course, one must get there. We took the MBTA, Boston's subway system. The regular Harbor Islands Express Ferries leave from 66 Long Wharf, near the Aquarium stop and Christopher Columbus Park. But our special boat ride started from MBTA's new Courthouse stop on the Silver Line. Hmm. There WAS no Courthouse stop until recently, and we debated whether it exists now: 'No way! There IS no Silver Line! It must be on a bus route.' 'No, that doesn't make sense because it's on the subway map. MBTA's subway schedule even gives its travel times.'
As we followed "Silver Line Outbound" signs from the known parts of South Station, we came to this platform. Just like any other underground subway platform -- until we looked for the tracks!
